Overall, each class is unique, requiring different strategies and equipment, and you might find yourself creating
multiple characters just so that you can experience the individual gameplay that each character brings to the plate.
There are five different stats that upgrade as you
level: strength, dexterity, endurance, intelligence, and spirit. Strength describes your attack damage, dexterity describes your ability to dodge and aim, endurance describes
your hit points and defense, and intelligence describes your magic damage. Spirit is the most unique of the stats, and it describes several different things: your defense
against magic attacks, your spirit points, and your chance of scoring critical hits. While certain stats are obviously most important to be upgraded for certain classes
(strength and endurance for fighters and intelligence for clerics and mages, for example), spirit is useful in different ways for each class, though never essential, making it
a major customization choice for the individual player.
Customization is, however, a bit more limited in "Fiesta" than it is in other MMORPGs because the game focuses its
major upgrades on class changes at levels 20, 60, and 100. Besides these major changes, you are also able to purchase and build equipment.
Lastly, with each level up you
receive one free stat point to upgrade any stat you like, in addition to the standard stats upgrades that that class receives.
Some upgrades, such as mounts and pets, can
only be purchased at the "Fiesta" cash store, which is somewhat unfortunate. Your movement speed in the game is a bit slow, and the idea of having to pay cash just so that you
can move more quickly is a bit annoying.
The quests tend to be pretty basic requests made by NPCs that have you kill certain monsters. There isn't much
variety amongst the quests, and the game hinges the fun of each around the combat system. If you get bored of the strategies available to you, the game could potentially
become tedious. One feature that "Fiesta" does boast, though, is kingdom quests, which take place throughout the day every two hours. Fifteen players join each instance of a
kingdom quest and work together toward an objective. This creates a team-based experience that is far more fun than completing quests and leveling up on your own. Quests do
get you to explore the different parts of the world, though, which have quite a bit of variety in look, if not in actual gameplay.
In fact, one of the best things that
"Fiesta" has going for it is its presentation.
The graphics aren't actually particularly good, but because it's aiming for a simple, cartoony
style through the use of cel-shading, it manages to look appealing without having overly detailed graphics. Each avatar and environment is distinct from the next, and all look
good. Furthermore, the music in the game is upbeat and enjoyable.
Customization may not be as thorough as it could be, and the lack of quest variety can sometimes make
gameplay a bit boring, but "Fiesta" has a quality presentation and a great world. It's definitely a free-to-play MMORPG that's worth trying
out.
