The Diablo IV Open Beta is just weeks away as we near the full release in June.
Hot Takes? Blizzard Announce Diablo IV Open Beta Dates
We're one step closer to witnessing what we hope will be a Diablo redemption arc, as Blizzard finally announced dates for the Diablo IV Open Beta. And if there's one thing we can be sure of, it's that the fires of hell will certainly make for some pretty hot takes.
Blizzard took to Twitter to announce that Early Access will take place from March 17th - 19th, followed by the Open Beta from March 24th - 26th. The Early Access period is reserved for the keen beans who pre-purchased Diablo IV. While the rest of us can jump straight in on March 24th.
The Diablo IV Open Beta will bring players through the title’s Prologue and Act 1 in its entirety. Players will only be able to level up their characters to 25, though once they’ve hit that limit they’re still free to cut down demonic hordes for the sheer thrill of it. The early game will feature demon-infested dungeons, quests from local NPCs, and plenty of that sweet, sweet loot.
Blizzard were, of course, keen to point out that some performance issues and outages may arise thanks to its early access state. But that’s kind of the point of Open Betas, after all, as Blizzard encourages everybody to provide their feedback in order to ensure that Diablo IV releases as smoothly as possible.
Before the Diablo IV Open Beta releases, however, the devs will be shedding a little more light on the highly anticipated sequel in the first Developer Update livestream of 2023. Lead world designer Art Peshkov, lead systems designer Meng Song, and game director Joe Shely will be jumping on the official Twitch and YouTube channels on February 28th 11:00 a.m. PST. They will be elaborating on Diablo IV’s Stronghold and Armor systems, in particular.
In the lead up to the Open Beta, Blizzard has confirmed that it will be providing more updates via the official website, including in-depth looks at what people can expect from the game. For now, until the Open Beta lands, try to contain your excitement.
