Staff of nightmares? The latest Albion patch reworks staves in the Into the Fray update.
Albion Online Into The Fray Update Receives a Patch-Up
Albion Online, the PC and mobile MMORPG with the 'you are what you wear' mantra, recently underwent a significant update. 'Into The Fray' brought some big changes to staves, portal zones, and Castles among many other exciting features. But now, less than two weeks later, the Into the Fray update has received its first patch to finetune these changes.
A brand new ranked mode was introduced with the Into the Fray update. The Crystal Arena will live alongside the Arena and allow players to practice Crystal League rules, but without the lethal consequences.
The latest Albion patch, however, brings ample improvements to this new feature, including improved matchmaking, an increased max load and a full heal and cooldown reset at the start and end of all Arena and Crystal Arena matches.
Staves, meanwhile, were treated to a complete overhaul in the latest Albion update. Players can now enjoy a visual smorgasbord depending on the type of staff they wield, such as skull-enveloped Cursed Staff spells or soothing shapes and sounds for Nature Staff spells.
Staff abilities also got a lot of TLC. Though a little extra attention may have been given to the Fire Staff, which this latest Albion patch has aimed to temper. The Fire Bolt and Flame Blast abilities, for instance, have been subjected to some reduced damage and longer cooldowns, respectively. However, one-handed staffs can enjoy some extra manoeuvrability with Pyroblast receiving increased rotation speed.
The latest Albion patch also tweaks the new Might system introduced to Castles and Castle Outposts. Now, Might-dealing chests will despawn in 30 minutes instead of five, giving players extra time to reap the benefits. Additionally, the new Portal Towns will allow players to travel with baggage and items to Royal Cities and islands.
These are the main changes in the latest Albion patch, but to clue up on all the details be sure to swing by the official patch notes.
