The coolest Dragonflight mount? Well that comes back to the eternal battle of ghost eagle vs snail.
WoW Wednesday: Comparing the Two Coolest Dragonflight Mounts
World of Warcraft's dungeon meta-achievement mounts are a special breed. Azeroth's highest achievers deserve only the best for their herculean efforts. And what better badge of pride is there than a mighty mount upon which to puff one's chest? They are a thing of beauty, and thanks to yet more datamining from Wowhead mere weeks ahead of the title's release, we now know the identity of what is sure to be the most coveted Dragonflight mount.
So far, the meta-achievement mount hall of fame comprises such fantastic beasts as the Volcanic Stone Drake, the Leyfeather Hippogryph, the Frostplains Battleboar, and, most recently, the Voracious Gorger. So what does the latest WoW expansion centred around all things draconic have to offer? A snail. Obviously.
Specifically, "Shellack" is a magma snail that does, at least, sport a collection of dragon-like horns atop its shell. So it did get the style memo, at least. Plus, just because it looks like one of nature's slowest creatures doesn't mean this bad boy can't zoom around at up to +100% speed. And one look at this magma mollusc is all it takes to see the confidence that only a mount that requires 24 Mythic dungeon achievements to obtain can exude.
For those that remain unconvinced, however, there is more Dragonflight mount news to get excited over. This one concerns the latest transformation mount, called the Divine Kiss of Ohn'ahra, which takes the form of a decidedly more badass-looking white eagle.
The Divine Kiss of Ohn'ahra is similar to mounts like the OG Sandstone Drake, which sees the player take the idea of 'becoming one's mount' quite literally by turning into the creature itself. To acquire this regal bird, players must first earn level nine Renown with the Maruuk Centaur faction.
From there, it's a matter of completing a series of quests in order to transform into this glorious white eagle. Though it goes without saying that this mount will be notably less rare than the fearsome Shellack.
