A cyberpunk metropolis awaits in Lightfall - we’ve got the trailer, details and a free loot code.

It's Destiny 2's turn to go all cyberpunk with the release of a ridiculously flashy trailer showcasing the setting of the latest expansion, Lightfall. If you weren't already hyped to visit Neptune, you probably will be now.

Lightfall is Destiny 2's seventh expansion, and the latest to elevate the high bar that Bungie has already set for live service games. As usual, the expansion will bring new missions, quests, locations, weapons, raids, and a brand new subclass: Strand.

Stand is the second Darkness-based subclass and features in the trailer as Guardians grapple their way through the neon-soaked city of Neomuna. We're also introduced to Neomuna's foremost defenders - and the Guardians' newest allies - the Cloud Striders.

These unlikely partners-in-justice have volunteered themselves and their lives in defense of Nemuna, undergoing life-shortening cybernetic enhancements in order to stand up against any who would pose a threat to their radiant city. In Lightfall, that threat arrives in the form of Emperor Calus and his Shadow Legion.

Lightfall isn't set for release until February 28th. But there's new content to enjoy in the meantime, as the Eververse store celebrates the Chinese Year of the Rabbit. Players can now get their hands on a new Exotic Ghost, Ship, Sparrow and a themed ornament for the Riskrunner.

There are also some freebies to nab as of right now. In the name of Chinese tradition, players can also obtain a free red envelope from the Eververse store containing bright dust until the end of January. Plus, a new Year of the Rabbit-inspired emblem can be redeemed with the emblem code TNN-DKM-6LG.

With Lightfall set to arrive on February 28th, players have just over one month to get the most out of the current Season of the Seraph. This includes the retrospective event Moments of Triumph, which honors all of the achievements of 2022 through a series of challenges.
