Players are discovering more & more Hearthstone WoW crossover content in the Dragonflight alpha.
WoW Wednesday: Dragonflight is Full of Hearthstone WoW Crossovers
Hearthstone, the legendary World of Warcraft card game, is being shown a lot of love in Dragonflight. As we fly closer towards the Dragonflight release date, a lucky few have been able to get stuck into the alpha. And so far everything from familiar faces to the game itself has already made appearances months before the game hits shelves. Meaning plenty more Hearthstone Dragonflight content is probably en route.
Hearthstone is one of the biggest mobile games on the market, and Blizzard's highest-grossing game on the platform. So far, at least. The title has grown so large, in fact, that it has spawned a cavalcade of new cast members in the Warcraft lore never before seen in Blizzard's flagship title.
But the rift between these two worlds seems to be fading as many Hearthstone characters were first spotted in July by alpha players. Cariel Roame and A.F. Kay, for instance, have both been spotted at the Waking Shores. While notorious baddie Rafaam has been rooted out via data mining and has many theorising that he will take a pretty central role in Dragonflight.
But the most on-the-nose inclusion of our favourite card game comes with a new Hearthstone Dragonflight quest, which tasks players with helping Guo-Hee Calmwater the Pandaren to find her stolen Hearthstone card.
The quest reveals that the card is actually rather ancient, and eventually leads to players witnessing two characters play an old-school match. It even sees players create their very own Hearthstone card, with the opportunity to turn themselves into one. But we'll have to see if these cards will ever be put to good use.
All in all, it looks like we might be in for an imminent Hearthstone WoW crossover in the same vein as the recent one that saw players earn a mount for playing Mercenaries in Hearthstone. But if not, it's still fun to see the two worlds collide even in the form of easter eggs.
