The newest BDO class and much more was revealed at the CalpheON Livestream event.

Black Desert Online's CalpheON livestream wrapped up over the weekend, and it was a doozy. We're forever on tenterhooks when it comes to discovering which direction Pearl Abyss have decided to take their latest flashy BDO class. And the latest unveiling certainly didn't disappoint. In fact, 'flashy' might be a bit of an understatement.

Drakania is the daughter of a legendary dragon, a 'Destroyer of Ynix' and wielder of the imaginatively-named Greatsword, Slayer. Save some edginess for the rest of the cast, why don't you. We're also wondering if Drakania and her army's armor is polished by literal dragon fire because boy that stuff is shiny.

One of Drakania's more interesting aspects, though (despite being the descended of an actual dragon) is her beef with fellow two-handed weapon-wielding warrior, Guardian. With the epithet 'Antithesis of Guardian', the animosity between these two promises an interesting story-driven dynamic that will undoubtedly have players picking sides. And that always brings out the fun in internet discussions.

Players can pre-create Drakania as of tomorrow 30th March until 6th April. Which of course bleeds perfectly into the upcoming expansion, Eternal Winter. But along with the introduction of Drakania comes plenty of extra additions.

For example, the Balenos questline is receiving an overhaul along with a brand new cutscene. Plus, some prominent NPCs are getting a makeover, because they just weren't beautiful enough for the famously beautiful BDO.

The update will also see Monster Zones zone changes including adjustments to income, the introduction of weather-dependent monsters and new Calpheon Elvia Realm Monster Zones. Quality of life improvements, meanwhile, will bring specialized inventory for Artifacts, Lightstones and Life Skill Tools and pet looting improvements.

And finally, there's a whole new wardrobe of characteristically gaudy outfits set to be given to some fan-favorite characters.
