The Elden Ring secrets run deep.
More Elden Ring Secrets Unearthed
Despite how many devs incorporate intricate puzzles with which to unveil easter eggs and other tidbits, you can always rely on some players who adopt the 'just smack it till something happens' approach. Some Elden Ring secrets even cater to this bullheaded method. Namely, the illusory walls which require a good old whack to unveil a hidden path.
But what if at first whack you don't succeed? Well, you whack and whack again, of course. 49 more times, to be exact.
Such was the philosophy of Elden Ring -playing Redditor teristam, who felt possessed to continue chipping away at a seemingly unresponsive wall for a full 50 hits. For their efforts the wall blinks out of existence and reveals…an area that was already accessible.
The anticlimactic result of their back-breaking work has led many to speculate that what teristam instead uncovered was a bug, and not a particularly fun one. Quite the opposite in fact. The lack of post-discovery jingle, the not-so-big reveal and the jarring way in which the wall just pops out of existence are indicative of this.
But by opening this hole in the wall, teristam has unwittingly also opened a can of worms. "You know we have to go back through the entire game and check every wall now right." Wrote one user. And the answer is yes.
We'd wager that there are many Elden Ring secrets that are yet to be unearthed, and if the tenacity of this one player has proved anything it's that they are everywhere. Sure, they could be bugs. But what if they aren't?
Either way, our saving grace may be that there aren't widespread reports of other such walls leading to anywhere interesting. But rest assured we'll keep an eye out for the next big discovery.
