Eorzea Rescue is a three-day in-game music festival of bards raising funds for victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquakes.
Feelgood Friday: FFXIV Bards Band Together for Earthquake Relief Music Festival This Weekend
This weekend, FFXIV Bards are coming out in force to support the relief efforts in Turkey and Syria. In another stellar example of the illustrious FFXIV community banding together, several events are taking place from this evening and across the weekend in the name of charity.
One of the best features of FFXIV bards is their ability to play live music with a wide array of instruments. As anybody who has wandered through Limsa Lominsa can attest, this often leads to "flash mobs'' that feature Eorza's most talented virtuosos setting up and performing live concerts at the Octant, much to the delight of glow stick-waving audiences.
Of course, it is typically free to bear witness to these shows when they occur. But in an attempt to both gather financial support for Doctors Without Borders and draw as much attention as possible, a Charity Music Festival is soon to get underway on EU & NA Data Centers.
So far, the three-day event is set to feature 33 FFXIV bands, with the possibility of a surprise appearance from one particularly legendary Bard. The first event takes place at 7pm UTC this evening on Louisoix (Chaos), with a lineup of bands to open the festival in Limsa Lominsa.
This will be followed by a nonstop performance in Limsa Lominsa from 10am UTC tomorrow on Zodiark (Light). Then, at 7pm UTC, the "main show" will take place in a Round Robin style. Several bands from NA will then begin at 11pm and throughout the night.
Sunday 5th March is TBA at the moment, meaning this will probably feature the elusive "secret act".
The organizers have asked that people who cannot donate simply attend, in order to raise as much awareness about the event as possible. They are also asking the audience to don "The Eorzea Rescue Official Outfit", pictured below.
The event will surely be a sight to behold, so be sure to swing by if you're hopping on to FFXIV over the weekend. Donations can be made via this Tiltify page, and a dedicated Discord has also been set up to keep abreast of what's happening.
