Free Dragonflight game time and a try-before-you buy look at the Dragon Isles!
WoW Wednesday: Blizzard is Giving Away Free Dragonflight Game Time
In the wake of the Shadowlands era, Blizzard has found itself back in fans' good books with Dragonflight. But while the trip to the Dragon Isles has been like a wonderful holiday for many, some abandoned the WoW ship a while ago. So Blizzard has decided to send out a lifeboat in the form of some free Dragonflight game time.
It's safe to say that, after one month, Dragonflight has largely passed the litmus test among fans. That is unless they are part of an apparent contingent that despise rainbows. At the very least, Dragonflight is a bigger hit than its predecessor. So in this time of giving, Blizzard has decided to bestow 30 days of free Dragonflight time to anybody who buys the expansion from now until January 2nd.
Of course, this is most likely an attempt by Blizzard to recoup some of their losses as disgruntled players swore off World of Warcraft over the last few years, leading to titles like Final Fantasy XIV welcoming WoW refugees in their droves last year.
Though acquiring a month of free game time will require buying the expansion for a not-so-paltry $49.99 (minimum), the deal is part of a wider World of Warcraft holiday sale that also allows players to try before they buy.
Until January 2nd, anybody with a subscription or Game Time can begin to explore the Dragon Isles up to level 63, but only with the brand new Dracthyr Evoker. Anybody who wishes to dip their toe into the new expansion must therefore create this draconic and rainbow-covered race/class combo before taking on the Charge of Care quest in the Waking Sure zone.
Other deals as part of the holiday sale include sizable discounts on the Heartwarming Pack, Celestial Steed, Winged Guardian, and Pandaren Monk and Lil' K.T. pets, to name a few. WoW Classic players can also nab a discounted Heroic and Epic upgrade for the Wrath of the Lich King Classic expansion.
