To celebrate a year since its western launch, the Lost Ark anniversary celebrations range from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Lost Ark Anniversary Celebrations Begin Today With a New Continent and Lots of Silliness
The Lost Ark anniversary celebrations have officially begun, rejoicing one full year of the title's western release. You could be forgiven for thinking this celebration was way past due, thanks to the cavalcade of content that has made its way to Arkesians since February 2022. So, it's no wonder that proceedings will include the introduction of an entire continent: Rowen.
The headline feature of the Lost Ark anniversary celebrations, Rowen, is set to shake things up with its extensive natural stores of the coveted crimson jewels known as Sylmael. Unsurprisingly, this resource has drawn the attention of competing parties, and in particular two Rowen-based factions: Preigelli and Liebertane.
Players must throw their weight behind one of these ideologically opposed factions as they embark on the new Rowen world quest. Which means deciding whether they're more aligned to the implementation of strict rules as favored by the machine-loving Preigelli or the passionate, freedom-fighting Liebertane, whose numbers comprise pirates and mages.
Siding with one faction will then open up PvP against the other. Participating players will climb through nine ranks by earning Faction XP, which can be earned through defeating enemy faction members and taking part in daily, weekly, and co-op quests.
These are the early days of the factional war, however, with a further six ranks and even more competition set to arrive in March with the introduction of the Tulubik Battlefield.
