A seemingly innocent social media image might contain clues on a Mad World release date.
Mad World Release Date Confirmed? MMOGames Follower Deciphers a Cryptic Image
We're suckers for a spot of viral marketing. And when a convincing theory from the internet's most proficient sleuths makes itself known, we can't help but pounce. Which is why a development on a potential Mad World release date has us hot under the collar.
For those that don't know, Mad World Age of Darkness is an exciting indie MMO from Korean developer Jandisoft. Mad World's take on the post-apocalyptic world is a distinctly biblical one, as players must navigate a demon-infested wasteland rife with titanic world bosses and PvP perils. All of which is rendered in a dark and gritty hand-drawn artstyle.
Despite being quite far through its development, fans have been awaiting news on a Mad World release date for some time now, as there has been over two months of radio silence from Jandisoft since its closed beta came to an end. But thankfully, Jandisoft has just reemerged with a series of social media posts. Posts that might contain a hidden clue as to when players can get their hands on it.
For this particular masterful deduction we have one of our own followers, Ricky Salsa on Twitter, to thank. Using the image below, Ricky got to work on figuring out what the seemingly innocuous image might be hiding. And it's pretty convincing.
"The image contains a full moon. The next full moon is on December 7th," said Ricky in the Twitter post. "There are also 12 red hands and 7 darker red ones, or 12/7. We may see a release on December 7th."
Jandisoft, whom Ricky tagged in their post, has yet to respond confirming or denying that the theory is correct. Though if this is part of a viral marketing campaign, it's unlikely that they will.
For now, we'll take the notion with a tiny pinch of salt. After all, we've been burned before. But we'll keep a close eye on any developments, and will be sure to publish what we learn.
