Neverwinter’s latest module ‘Dragonslayer’ introduces a cool new dragon-hunting system.
It’s Dragon Hunting Season in Neverwinter’s Latest Module
Not to be outdone by WoW's recent announcement or BDO's latest expansion, Neverwinter's latest module is all about dragons. 'Dragonslayer' is inspired by Dungeons and Dragons' own Fizban's Treasury of Dragons. So if the 'Dragons' part of DnD is your jam - you're in luck. Spoilers ahead for those that haven't already completed Dragonbone Vale.
As was expected, players defeated Valindra Shadowmantle and drove her away. However, as a parting gift, Shadowmantle cast a flawed version of the Scaleblight Mythal, driving countless dragons into a wild rage. Needless to say, it's your job to quell these rampaging reptiles.
Dragonslayer is Neverwinter's 23rd module and, unsurprisingly, will feature a little bit of dragon slaying. An all-new Dragon Hunt system will allow players to become one of Smeriduk Dragonbone's mighty dragonslayers by taking the fight to the dragons' lairs themselves.
Players will go toe-to-toe against various chromatic dragons of all ages, each one bringing its own unique set of challenges. The update also bestows these dragons with brand new attacks, spells and the ability to fly.
The fan-favorite Temple of Tiamat Trial is also receiving an update. The new version will feature new mechanics and challenges and can be tackled in Normal or Master difficulty.
"As a fan of Dungeons & Dragons for over 25 years, it's an absolute honor to announce our upcoming module, Neverwinter: Dragonslayer, during the first-ever D&D Direct," said Brett Norton, executive producer for Neverwinter. "The module was built for fans of D&D's dragons, including those who loved all the new dragon adventure possibilities that Fizban's introduced. We're excited for all D&D players, both new and old, to tackle the challenges of becoming a dragonslayer in our upcoming update!"
Neverwinter's latest module is set to release on all platforms in June. Expect more information to release closer to the time - but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the announcement trailer.
