The Old School RuneScape community is deciding on which new OSRS skill they want in-game.
Milking, Foraging, or Love? Vote for the First-Ever New OSRS Skill
History is being made in Old School RuneScape as the community decides on the game's first ever new skill. A moment that hasn't been experienced by the playerbase since Summoning was introduced to original RuneScape 15 years ago. In an impressive display of MMO democracy, the community have rallied together to break a player poll record, overwhelmingly deciding that the time is right for a new OSRS skill. Now, as a great(ish) man once said, this is where the fun begins.
Reaching the resolution to introduce a new OSRS skill was no mean feat. Community polls are particularly prolific, with an entire page dedicated to the democratic implementation of changes. However, votes are only afforded to players who have a skill level of at least 300 and a minimum total playtime of 25 hours. Then, a poll is only considered successful if it has achieved 70% approval.
The poll on whether or not to add a new OSRS skill was introduced on December 10th 2022. A record-breaking 190,000 people then cast their votes in the space of a week, with over 80% confirming that they wanted a brand new skill to get stuck into.
Now comes the second stage of the six-stage process: community consultation. This is where the community decides exactly which skill they want to see in-game, and whether it should take the form of a Production, Gathering, Combat or Utility skill, or even if it should take on a new identity entirely.
Needless to say, the community is now abuzz with discussion, speculation and the unavoidable sprinkling of online altercations as everyone offers their two cents, or clamor for a redo of stage one. Ah, democracy.
Some of the most recent proposals include Milking, Inscription, Racing, Foraging, and my personal favorite, Love. Though as is the case for all-too many IRL, the pursuit of this skill is probably nothing but a pipedream.
Community consultation for the new OSRS skill will be underway until January 31st, after which a Community Panel of 100 players will attend a Discord focus group to discuss the top skills proposed in the third stage of the process. And to that panel we say: "good luck".
Bigpoint Games releases the newest Sentinel for its science fiction inspired MOBA Shards of War. The fifteenth addition to the lineup is a short ranged melee Sentinel known as Ryudo. His arsenal includes plenty of crowd controls such as stuns and damage over time abilities which will help him harass his enemy in the laning phase and hopefully slow enemy players down long enough to secure a kill in later phases of the game.

His ultimate skill lends itself to these accurate assaults. ‘Crossfade’ can teleport Ryudo over vast distances to directly confront his main target or drop behind the battle lines of the enemy. This also stuns and damages all foes in his path.
Skilled players are able to repeatedly use ‘Fast Break’, which makes Ryudo dash forward to slow and wound enemies, and ‘Blade Storm’, which channels damage to all enemies in front for a short burst.
Coupled with his incredible mobility, his defensive skill ‘Rejection!’ uses his sword to block incoming base attacks, allowing Ryudo to remain in the battle longer than most.
Finally ‘Mad Flow’ reduces most of his skill cooldowns by half a second each time he hits his enemy with his primary attack
