Who can blame them after another sensational trailer like that?
The New SWTOR Expansion Has Left Fans Wanting More
Legacy of the Sith sees the conflict between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic push further afield, embroiling new planets as the clandestine plans of Darth Malgus develop. But despite the new SWTOR expansion prompting some great feedback, one aspect has drawn the ire of some players: it's far too short.
One of the main criticisms levied against the update is that BioWare has framed it as an expansion. Whilst MMO expansions like Shadowlands and the inimitable Endwalker have delivered days of new content (for better or worse), Legacy of the Sith has already been completed by many in just a few hours.
Of course, the upside to so many feeling dissatisfied with the lack of playtime is that it suggests that the new SWTOR expansion is enjoyable enough to leave fans wanting more. The uptick in positive Steam reviews certainly suggests so.
But other features such as a new Combat Style system and an overhauled UI have also garnered criticisms, with some players being locked out of ability combos they have used for years whilst lamenting the loss of a more stylised interface.
But it's worth taking these aspersions with a pinch of salt. Though a vocal few may prophesize the beginning of the end for SWTOR , player numbers are keeping a level high following the expansion's release earlier this week. Though we doubt any would complain if BioWare decided to update their engine. Being 'Old' in name doesn't mean they need to be old in nature.
