The new WoW treant has blossomed as part of a Dragonflight glow-up - drawing almost unanimous praise.
WoW Wednesday: Who Would Have Thought a Spruced-up WoW Treant Would Unite Azeroth?
If, like us, you're incredibly impatient and want all of the dirt on Dragonflight as soon as impossible instead of waiting for some pesky "release date", then you may have been among the throng of Redditors seen gushing over a WoW treant makeover slated to arrive with the newest WoW expansion.
A change to the WoW treant was somewhat inevitable given that fans have been clamouring for one for years now. And it's safe to say that Blizzard has delivered the glow-up that Druids deserved, as it now sports ample foliage, a beefier frame, and overall polish that brings it up to modern standards.
But don't take our word for it, have a look at the comparison and judge for yourself. Sure there are naysayers - this is a WoW subreddit after all - but the general consensus is positive. And that's something worth celebrating.
But the treant isn't the only model getting a makeover. In fact, Wowhead has created a list of Dragonflight's dolled-up denizens thanks to some early data mining, which does of course feature the spruced-up treant itself in three seasonal styles, as well as a cavalcade of brand new models that we can expect to see in Dragonflight. Many of which were the new Battle Pets, from which we picked five of the best.
Most of the makeovers seem to come from Primal versions of pre-existing creatures such as the tallstrider and rhino. And the recurring theme is that these primal creatures are distinctly more draconic in nature. Can't think of why that might be.
Whether or not the datamining has exhausted every new model in the pipeline remains to be seen. But if Blizzard can pull off any more touch-ups that unite people in their praise as capably as the WoW treant, then maybe we'll see some more harmonious agreement amongst the playerbase. But then again, maybe it's just a healer thing.
