A peaceful Pandaren hits the WoW level cap before stepping off Exile’s Reach starting ship.
WoW Wednesday: A Pacifist Panda Player's Pioneering 200-Day WoW Level Cap Voyage
There seems to be a natural law in gaming that states that if it can be done, somebody will do it. Reasons be damned. Because recently, one player has inexplicably decided to spend 200 days hitting the WoW level cap of 70 before even reaching the starting zone.
World of Warcraft's legacy of pacifist Panderan runs continues.
The feat was achieved by Reddit user Cheatcho, who posted their methods to the r/WoW subreddit. We'd say that their username is suspicious, but the crazy thing is that the method, posted with evidence, is legit.
To become the most powerful “newbie” in Exile’s Reach, you must first have another character on your account. This character must have access to pet battle quests, which are account-wide and therefore able to be completed by the ship-bound character on an endless voyage.
The new character must then spend 200+ days battling the trainers on board: Old McDonald, Eric Davidson, Lindsay, Bill Buckler, and Dagra the Fierce. Cheatcho recommends using level 25 Chrominius’ arcane explosion for the smoothest experience. Though it is by no means smooth. Five minutes per day for over half of the year is a commitment that boggles the mind.
Thankfully, Cheatcho gave us their reasoning: “Because it's the ultimate solo player way to level a character. You never leave the ship. You never defeat another player, dungeon boss or even group with anyone else. You never die. And because I consider doing it fun.”
Really, the last point is the only one that makes sense to us. Because if it makes Cheatcho happy, then who are we to judge? And there’s extra kudos to be given for the commitment, and the fact that (as Cheatcho pointed out themselves) the world-first to reach the WoW level cap on the Exile’s reach starting ship has finally been achieved.
Now of course, Cheatcho isn’t the first pacifist pandarin to achieve WoW notoriety. And we’ll be publishing an article soon about the WoW legend that is “Doubleagent”.
