The Secrets of Ulduar arrives alongside a trailer and other “new” additions to Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
The Beloved Secrets of Ulduar Raid is Now Live in WoW Classic
One of Wrath of the Lich King's most beloved raids is now live in WoW Classic as eldritch horrors rear their exceptionally ugly heads in Ulduar. Be sure to steel your minds, because the madness-inducing Yogg-Saron is back.
The Secrets of Ulduar was first released in April 2009 to much acclaim, thanks in no small part to the star of the show, the Old God of Death, Yogg-Saron. This multi-mawed monstrosity is quite literally the stuff of nightmares and was responsible for the creation of the Curse of Flesh before being imprisoned by the Titans themselves.
Now, after corrupting the Titanic watchers tasked with keeping it under lock-and-key, players must subdue it with the help of Brann Bronzebeard. No big deal.
Ulduar marks the next chapter in Wrath of the Lich King Classic as players gear up for the ultimate confrontation with the eponymous Lich King himself. Along with the raid comes new Emblems of Conquest, obtainable via Ulduar raid boss kills and the daily heroic dungeon quest, Proof of Demise. Emblems of Valor are still obtainable, although Emblems of Heroism will now be phased out and can be exchanged for gold.
Those looking for a greater challenge will also be able to beef-up the enemies within a heroic dungeon by interacting with a titan relic at the start. This will grant all enemies extra health, increased damage, and other added effects in order to create a Mythic+ style challenge in exchange for greater rewards.
A new Arena Season has also begun, with Season 6 granting qualifying players the Furious Gladiator title and the Furious Gladiator's Frost Wyrm mount. Plus, the Argent Crusade has officially commenced, providing daily quests within the new tournament grounds in Icecrown as the living prepare for the final showdown against the Lich King.
Finally, January 23rd will bring Emalon the Storm Watcher to the Vault of Archavon raid's east wing. Defeating him will earn Ulduar Raid Set items and Furious Gladiator PvP loot in 25-player difficulty, and Deadly Gladiator loot in 10-player difficulty.
