SWTOR does narratives like no other MMO. Find out the fates of Sa'har Kateen and Darth Malgus.
The Nefarious Plans of Darth Malgus Revealed in SWTOR Summer Update
Following on from another breathtaking trailer which showed us that Star Wars: The Old Republic has still got it, BioWare is back with another update today entitled "Digging Deeper". And dig deep it does, with plenty of changes and additions to get stuck into - like a lightsaber through blast doors.
The core of the SWTOR summer update delivers some narrative progression as Digging Deeper begins to answer some of the questions left by the impossibly flashy trailer. Players will start to uncover the shady details of Darth Malgus' plans, as well as what his deal is with Darth Nul.
Players will also uncover the fate of the other star of the trailer, Sa'har Kateen, whom we casuals last saw in the process of being buried beneath a collapsing building. After all, if there's one thing that movie tropes have taught us, it's that she is most certainly alive and well.
Digging Deeper will also introduce the R-4 Anomaly Operation - a new challenge in which players can team up to take on members of a Sith cult bent on getting their hands on an ancient weapon of immense power. Four Sith bosses await, with a chance for players to reach Item Rating 340.
The new Daily Area allows players to explore the depths of Manaan, complete with new story and daily quests, achievements, and a reputation track, including rewards and titles.
Other highlights from the SWTOR summer update include balance changes to all combat styles, four new Tactical items, a power increase that will see players able to increase their power up to Item Rating 330, and user interface enhancements that improve the Character Window, Weapons in Outfitter and combat style icons.
Finally, SWTOR players can let loose with the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event, with a chance to win at their casinos and earn the new High Roller Weapons. This event will be running from now until September 13th (12:00 PM UTC).
