Will Tower of Fantasy 2.0 reinvigorate the Genshin-style MMORPG?
Hotta Studio Announce Tower of Fantasy 2.0 - “Vera”
Judging by the Twitch view total, Tower of Fantasy may be in the midst of a stark decline in players despite the honeymoon period hype. Which probably means it's high time for the Genshin clone's first major update. Well, luckily for anyone who isn't fully immersed in Genshin Impact 3.0, Hotta Studio is here with the goods.
The reason we only have Twitch views to confirm just how popular Tower of Fantasy is right now is that Steam DB simply doesn't have the data yet. But this is all about to change as Tower of Fantasy is set to land on Steam alongside its first major update, entitled "Vera", on October 20th.
Tower of Fantasy 2.0 will feature two major new regions: the hilariously named Desert Gobby, and the cyberpunk city of Mirroria. Despite Mirroria acting as a hub of civilization in the middle of a scorching desert, both offer their fair share of treacherous conditions. Because, as anyone familiar with the cyberpunk genre will realise, this isn't the kind of city you'd want to kick back and admire the view in.
Needless to say, with two brand new environments come a plethora of brand new missions, events, raids, instances, monsters, and legendary bosses, along with some shiny new vehicles and weapons. If Hotta Studio and Level Infinite are looking to reinvigorate the playerbase, then this is certainly the way to do it.
The biggest new challenge that Wanderers will face comes in the form of the Grayspace, a section of the Desert Gobby where a sense of doom and darkness lingers and enemies known simply as Grayspace Entities prowl. The most formidable of the Entities are the Abyssants, which pose the biggest threat and, therefore, deliver the best rewards.
To hail the arrival of Tower of Fantasy 2.0, Level Infinite and Hotta Studio will be hosting a stream event via their YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter accounts on October 13th at 13:00 (PT). This celebratory stream will feature a more in-depth look at the Vera update, sweetened with exclusive content, new announcements, rewards, and more.
