"Reeling in the Stars" - Forget your zodiac sign, what’s your Trove constellation?
Trove Fishing Gets an Overhaul in an Angling & Astrology Powered Update
It's time to don the space-suits, because Trove is swapping cubes for stars...made out of cubes. The new Reeling In the Stars update is the latest for PC-playing Trovians which sees two big additions that should make anglers and hippies alike pretty happy.
In an update that seems wholly inspired by the Dreamworks Animations logo, gamigo is introducing an overhaul to the Trove fishing system at the same time as a new feature that allows players to buff their avatars with some extragalactic perks.
Much like the star signs that supposedly represent us IRL, the new Star Chart character progression system allows players to pick between three constellations that best represent their cuboid selves. Namely:
The Constellation of Gathering, which bestows increased gains in harvesting and experience.
The Constellation of Combat, which bestows more Physical and Magical damage alongside critical hit and damage buffs.
The Constellation of Cubesly, which enhances flasks and personal improvements in dungeons and delves.
The Star Chart - which can be unlocked via the new Grand Orrery NPC - essentially works like a talent tree, requiring players to reveal stars in each constellation with Celestial Spheres and Constellation Keys. These can be acquired from The Celestial, who is happy to exchange both in exchange for the newest Trove currency: Astral Echoes. Which can, in turn, be acquired through some standard dungeon and cave-delving.
As for the Trove fishing overhaul, players can now expect a more immersive angling experience. Shorter fishing times give players more opportunities to try out a selection of new lures, each with their own buffs and effects that are applied directly to the player.
Other changes such as an enhanced recipe book, more intuitive fish that stray from heavily-fished areas, adjusted fish sizes, and more fish habitats are just some of the extra additions being used to beef-up the fishing mechanics.
Note that the update is PC-only for now, though it won't be long before console players will be reeling in these new features in their own games.
