A new Skyrim magic mod has landed, and really ups the ante when it comes to Destruction spells.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if a particularly amped-up bolt of lightning struck you in the face? Or if you were literally chilled to the bone by an extremely localised blizzard? Well whatever you thought it might be, it's probably not what Skyrim would have you believe. And a new adults-only Skyrim magic mod by Nexus Mods creator D-won aims to rectify that.

The mod is accurately entitled "Maximum Destruction" and adds a little more gruesome accuracy to Skyrim's Destruction spells and their effects. For instance, if you've ever unleashed a fireball upon some hapless bandits and were left wondering why their bodies were distinctly un-burned, this Skyrim magic mod aims to change that.

Effects will accompany enchanted weapons as well as the spells wrought by the Dragonborn's own hands. Most of these effects occur upon death, with the exception of poison spells that will cause humanoid opponents to throw up, or non-humanoid opponents to flee.

Enchanted weapons and lower-level spells will cause four different fatal effects based on the type of spell, including:

• Lightning - Electrifies the opponent's body.

• Fire - Burns the opponent's body.

• Ice - Causes chunks of ice to form around the opponent's body.

• Poison - Bodies show "signs of poisonous death". Which isn't very descriptive, but doesn't sound very pleasant either way.

Spells cast at Adept, Expert, or Master level, however, are what really earns the mod its name. These effects include:

• Lightning - Causes the opponent's heart or head to explode, and electrifies the body.

• Fire - Blows off limbs and burns the body.

• Ice - Deep-freezes the body and causes it to break into icy chunks.

• Poison - Will also show signs of poisonous death.

Finally, if all of that wasn't enough destruction to sate your sadism, post-mortem effects all involve the bodies of your victims exploding. After all, the mod isn't called 'Medium Destruction'.
