Indie Spotlight: Super Spatial is a Super Social Mobile MMO Experience
The MMO sphere is pretty heavy on PC-based fantasy and sci-fi. Which is probably why such genres comprise the majority of our Indie Spotlight series. But this month's recipient, Super Spatial, is shaking things up by offering a mobile-based social experience that swaps swords and lasers for bricks and brushes.
From a development team that have their roots in such companies as Rovio - the developer of the indomitable Angry Birds franchise - Super Spatial is a lighthearted take on a distinctly social MMO reminiscent of Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and Habbo Hotel.
If crafting, collecting and cooperation are the kind of mechanics that speak to you, then read on for more details.
Super Spatial Key Features
==========================
Chibi-style avatars and a vibrant world are indicative of the kind of gameplay that players can expect. The sandbox experience includes building dream houses from simplified blocks, decorating their interior, and building and enjoying multiplayer experiences created by fellow players.
Exploration will see players encountering worlds built by their peers, including activities to get stuck into such as obstacle courses. Interacting with their worlds will then earn coins and items with which players can build personalized worlds of their own. Party Island, meanwhile, will facilitate collaborative construction free from restraints and full of community spirit.
Developer Dazzle Rocks have said that they are focussed on delivering a game that features the best elements of industry powerhouses from the palm of our hands. Super Spatial has been developed by a team with decades of collective experience looking to facilitate meaningful connection through gameplay.
