For a game that's over a decade old, there's still plenty of life in Minecraft thanks to the efforts of the modding community. So much life, in fact, that it has started to form a society and wants you dead. Say hello to the Mi - the cute little white cube that's not to be trifled with.

Of all the Crafty Creations we've published, we're not sure that many have been quite so aggressive. The Mi Alliance: Invasion! mod is designed to up the ante in a standard game of Minecraft. The AI mobs that it introduces act like a group of IRL players would, by building their own structures, exploring and imposing their miniature might upon the hapless players that inhabit their spaces.

The mod was first published by lord_blubbee in late June, with an excellently crafted trailer that warns "The world no longer belongs to you" as it demonstrates the industrious and combative nature of these little white blobs with whom players must now share their cuboid world.

However, they needn't face this new threat alone as the Mi Alliance mod also allows for players to raise a Mi army of their own. Basically turning Minecraft into a permanent battleground as the player's fight for survival has reached a new era of civilization.

The latest update, which was released last week, has even thrown machine warfare into the mix, with the ability to build and pilot all manner of vehicles ranging from warplanes to tanks. The trailer even depicts multi-Mi dogfights that really shows just how much work has been put into this Minecraft mod.

New biomes, trees, ores, and weapons are just some of the additional content that has been worked into the Minecraft mod. And best of all, it's entirely free to download.
