For many, it has flown largely under the radar until recently. A fact that could well be savvy marketing that works to the game's advantage.
Why There Are So Many Unanswered Throne and Liberty Questions
Usually, new MMORPGs, DLCs, and expansions are plagued by datamining and leaks which help keep the game in the public eye for years before release. With Throne and Liberty, however, details have been sparse despite its 13-year development history. While it certainly doesn't count as a shadow drop, the sparsity of information on Throne and Liberty may well help it escape the all-too-familiar MMORPG formula of mass hype followed by disappointment and player haemorrhaging.
In this sense, it's taken the opposite path to games like Ashes of Creation which have been trying to keep players enthused over years and years of development.

Is Throne and Liberty Project TL?
Yes. Project TL was the working title for Throne and Liberty, and to this day the lead developers often still refer to the game as "TL". It's safe to assume that TL will be to Throne and Liberty as World of Warcraft is to WoW.
Is Project TL released?
Project TL, now known as Throne and Liberty is not released at the time of publication. But it is due to be released in the first half of 2023.
Is Throne and Liberty a Lineage game?
No. Throne and Liberty was originally intended to join the Lineage series as the game "Lineage Eternal". But has since become its own IP in a completely distinct game universe.
Is Throne and Liberty the same as Lineage Eternal?
Yes and no. While Throne and Lineage was originally intended to be a new Lineage game called Lineage Eternal, it took a change in direction. "Lineage Eternal" is no longer a game in development.
Is Throne and Liberty the same as Project E?
Project E is a separate upcoming game that exists in the same world as Throne and Liberty. Even less is known about it, though it will either be an RPG or an MMORPG with a more Eastern aesthetic. It is most likely set on a neighbouring continent that may feature some crossover with Throne and Liberty. Compared with Throne and Liberty, development on Project E is only just getting started. It most likely will not release until 2025 at the earliest. Project E will likely be made in Unreal Engine 5.
Who will be publishing Throne and Liberty?
On February 22^nd^ 2023, Amazon Games confirmed long-running suspicions that they will be publishing Throne and Liberty in the Europe, South America, North America, and in Japan. They made this agreement with Throne and Liberty's creators, NCSoft.
Who is developing Throne and Liberty?
While published by Amazon Games, Throne and Liberty is developed by South Korean developers NCSoft. As MMORPG developing veterans, NCSoft has also developed cult hit MMOs, such as Lineage, AION, Blade & Soul, and the Guild Wars games.
When will Throne and Liberty be released?
Throne and Liberty is scheduled for release in the first half of 2023. Judging by the fact Amazon Games has only just taken over publishing, we can expect it to be in the latter months of the first half of the year. We predict Throne and Liberty will be published in June 2023.

Is Throne and Liberty on Unreal Engine 4 or Unreal Engine 5?
Perhaps more than any other Throne and Liberty FAQ, this one has the most contradictory answers. It was announced for Unreal Engine 4, but it seems that misconceptions have arisen based on the graphical quality of its trailers. This lent many to believe and claim that it is Unreal Engine 5. That said, there are rumours that they are secretly upgrading to Unreal Engine 5 for a shock-and-awe marketing technique.
Will Throne and Liberty be F2P?
Throne and Liberty is likely to be free-to-play with a substantial in-game shop. Following Amazon Games recent announcement of a Free and Premium track for New World, we may well see a similar system introduced for Throne and Liberty.
Will Throne and Liberty be Pay to Win (P2W)?
It is not yet known whether Throne and Liberty will be pay to win. Developers want the game to be play to win, though those claims are made with fairly shaky guarantees: "We want to stay away from Pay to Win as much as possible". At the very least, it's fairly safe to expect catch-up mechanics for casual players based on purchasable items.
