The world in the sci-fi RPG shooter Nikke: Goddess of Victory is in ruins, because the Rapture invasion followed without warning. An alien mechanical force has destroyed pretty much everything that humanity has ever built. Numerous people were executed and slaughtered. Within a very short time, humans were forced to flee underground and build a new civilization there. At some point, the reconquest of the Earth's surface should take place, but this is still a long way off, because an army to fight back is no longer available. There is hope, however. Three major corporations have taken it upon themselves to put together a force to counter the threat. The special thing about this is that the fighters consist only of women, so-called Nikke.

In Nikke: Goddess of Victory you'll not only take on the role of a commander, but you'll also command the eponymous Nikke. Up to five female warriors can be in your team, and depending on which characters you choose, you'll have different options available. Some are suitable for ranged combat, others for direct confrontations, and others for support or powerful damage. Additionally, you'll be able to equip the fighters with all sorts of futuristic weapons, so that you can stand up to the invaders in action-packed gunfights.

The gameplay is a mixture of role-playing and shooter. More precisely, it feels a bit like a cover shooter. You shoot from a safe position, find cover to reload, and then the shooting continues. At the end of each stage, a nasty boss awaits you. If you manage to defeat it, you'll get experience points and more to improve and strengthen your characters.

Nikke: Goddess of Victory can be played both on mobile platforms and on the PC. Basically, the game is free, but it has a gatcha mechanic where real money can be wagered.
