The name of the game is well chosen, because State of Survival is about survival. What starts out as a makeshift shelter soon develops, under your direction, into a defensible city that protects numerous survivors and keeps everyone at bay who tries to get rich at your expense. However, a safe haven requires not only experienced fighters who know how to defend their home, but also a lot of resources. Therefore, if you want to survive, you'll have to go on exploration missions and stock up on new materials and food.

In the exploration part of State of Survival you'll rely on the skills of capable heroes, for example to fight zombies. Who you recruit depends on luck and your decisions. If you stay on the ball, more and more illustrious characters will join your squad of fighters.

But there are not only heroes in the game: you also have to deal with other players. They may well be among your opponents, envious of your progress. But if you find comrades-in-arms and pull together as like-minded people, you'll have an easier time stopping enemies like infected hordes and taking on whatever lurks in the wilderness. In the end, however, it's every man for himself in his town. So it's a matter of weighing who is friend and who is foe. The risk is usually worth it: In a group, you represent a powerful cooperation to be reckoned with and can even cope with boss opponents.

As a free-to-play construction strategy game, State of Survival can be played for as long as you want without paying. This works both on the PC and on mobile devices. The developers rely on microtransactions in the game to finance the game.
